Ladies' Night

Two Fridays ago, I had my first night out with friends, long after I gave birth to Sword. I recall how excited I was to be out once again, from deciding what to wear to reaching the sky with the help of a peep-toe heels. Oh to be young!

It wasn't really the party-party, dance and drink party, though. We stayed in in a hotel closest to most of the girls, like 30 minutes away from home! You know how much I love trying overnight stays in different hotels and enjoying the free breakfast and use of swimming pools that come with it, so we were glad to lay our backs on the soft and comforting beds of Luxent Hotel. Only I didn't get to try the breakfast 'coz we left very early for an event I hosted the following day--which I am also about to blog the soonest I can. :P

Although I Instagram-ed most of the photos already, allow me to share you more.

The girls and I decided to have a theme to make the night extra special. Special because our dear girl friend Anne is back from Spain/Portugal. :) So guess what our theme was? Of course, dresses and heels haha!

The night also became a baby bump shoot for Rachel, who's now 6 months pregnant, and a slumber party only in dresses, not in pyjamas!

More pictures!

When and where our next hotel escapade will be? I hope by then, Phoebe, Cheenee, Cha, Susie and Miles will get to join us! Love them girls!

Last Friday Night

A single celebration doubles the fun!

Susie and Rachel, both August babies, celebrated their birthdays in a night together. Only the closest friends were there where a friend of a friend instantly becomes friends with each other, except for Kimmie who spent her weekend in Singapore.

The birthday girls enjoying the mysterious cake from Bruce Wayne.

Out of the 20+ registered guests, only a few arrived due to the problems brought about by the monsoon. It must be awkward to say, but the night was unexpectedly cosy. Everyone bonded so well because the small celebration turned out to be homely feast. <3

Maxi and mini.

While the girls sported their mini bottoms, I came in wearing my maxi dress topped by a blazer. I went to Discovery Suites straight from the office and didn't want to bring extra kilos of stuff with me so there. No legs, only fezzz.

JC joined us not to take our photos but to send me home.
(Joke lang, but thanks, JC!)

Paolo wasn't around because he went to Baguio for work. And this is me without him (ho-ho-ho):

Sad.

But as Leighton Meester said, "Who needs a boyfriend? I've got my girlfriends!"

The night wouldn't be perfect, of course, without group photos. Our college chum, Mai, also came! It was three years since I last saw her. She lost a lot of weight but lost her heart too. Chost. But seriously, Mai's amazing!

Temptation Islanders and Mai and Cham.

For kids only also! With my super cutie patootie godson Zack. <3

"Life is always better when you have good friends around." - Marianne M.

Love this! Our almost complete group pic. :)

Rachel and Susie's party was a blast but there was a mini hole in my heart because aside from them celebrating their birthdays, the night also served as a farewell party to my dearest-est-est-est Susie who will soon leave for Canada.

If you take a closer look at this photo, you will see my teary eyes. Can't let her go but I was actually one of the few who convinced her to take the chance abroad.

I will miss you and I will always love you, Sushie!!!

I'm so glad to have friends like them! All fun, always young and care free! Again, happy birthday to you Susie, Rachel, and of course, my sister Ate Mai. I pray for the best for the three of you. :)

Omakase, Oh I'm Crazy!

The boyfriend and I had our usual movie date last Friday. We planned about this a day before but I felt like he wanted something aside from watching a film. I knew it, he wanted something gooooood to eat. He asked me what I want for dinner so I asked him back, "Can we eat outside the mall. Hmm, somewhere in Morato?" Being my boyfriend of seven years, he knew what I was thinking. "Omakase?", he said.

End of the story.

Omakase's Mix Nigiri, P280

I always order GDR (Golden Blossom-Dynamite Roll-Rising Sun) Sushi Platter whenever I dine in Omakase but I had a change of heart last Friday. I wanted to try something new. So I ordered Mix Nigiri (Salmon, Ebi, Tuna, Uni, Tamagon and Kani). Of course I'm no longer surprised, it was heaven! Oohlalala! And  as of now I'm craving for some! Delicioso!

Omakase Salad, Php 140

Omakase Salad shouldn't be missed as well. It's Omakase's own version of kani salad with a twist. Scrumptious shredded Japanese crabstick, lettuce, cucumber tomato and ebiko--my favorite, with a special mayo dressing. I actually don't like mayonnaise but Omakase dishes served with mayonnaise are such exemptions!

Ebi Tempura, P260

My first time to try their version of tempura. One of the yummiest, I can say! Hindi ka lugi sa breading unlike Tokyo Tokyo's. (Shizz, I swear, I really want to eat as I type this entry! Ahhhhhh!!!)

And one thing constant about Omakase is their house tea. I l♥ve their house tea, hot or iced! Do you know why Japanese/Chinese restaurants serve tea? For more than a thousand years, Japanese and Chinese drink tea after every meal. Japanese even have a culture called "The Way of the Tea" aka Japanese Tea Ceremony, right? It's because tea contains antioxidants which stop the oxidation of bad cholesterol and thus, increasing the amount of good cholesterol and it lowers the risk of stomach cancers. These are just two of the many advantages of tea that I need not to enumerate.

My date and I. ♥

We didn't stay for so long in Omakase. We rushed back to The Block right after our meal to catch the last full show of Fast Five. As usual, Paul Walker is so freaking hot and his blue eyes are truly the windows of his soul! Hahaha, yes, there's like that! :P
