Yet Another Fash School

A couple of Saturdays ago, I received an invitation from one of the students of Fashion Institute of the Philippines who also happens to be my colleague from TV5. I giddily said yes the moment she asked me if I'm available on that day. Aside from modeling for this friend of mine, I wanted to inquire, to know the school's other offered courses and to also see the school for myself. I wanted to see how accessible FIP is, how clean its campus is and to know its difference from other fashion schools I've been to like the School of Fashion and the Arts.

Erica asked me to wear a bright, flowy top with a statement necklace so I planned to wear a plain yellow top and brought my MARiS Miss Pastel feather necklace. I also planned to wear something comfortable since I'll be going to support Paolo's Vinyl + Splash event with Fully Booked.

Before!

Forgive me but I really look so chubby here! I've been eating a lot after Kim and Mon's wedding and after our recent Boracay trip. But kebssss! It's the season to be jolly and chubby so diet resumes after the Yuletide season!

After!

I'm quite lucky that the "lesson of the day" is about eye makeups! Yay for smoky eyes! <3 We were taught how to do the smoky eyes using bright colors (blue, green) and the basic colors (brown and black). I've always wanted to perfectly create the smoky eyes a la Penelope Cruz, remember? And the last time I adored this classic eye makeup was last September during a session with Paul & Joe's Judith Pia.

Closer look you'll see the blue and green shadows used for my schmokey eyes!

Other version of smoky eyes using brown and black shadows.

Zzz :)

With TV5 PR specialist/FIP student/makeup artist, Erica Camagong. Naks!

Sheena Ramos of TV5 New Media also joined us.

Wing tip eyeliner on Sheena. And yes, if she looks familiar.. click here. Hehehe!

Erica, Sheena and I :)

With Ella, Erica's classmate :)

Hey it's Maxx... on the magazine!

After this beauty session with the girls, I headed off straight to High Street! Right time for my eye makeup to serve its purpose!

With this happened, I fell in love deeper with makeups! I think I'm kinda obsessed with them now. And just last night, I bought the eyeshadow palette I've been eying on since Saturday. I may blog about it, let's see! For now, have a happy Thursday, don't forget to hear the Mass (it's Immaculate Conception Day) and later tonight I'll be attending a hiphop event with the boyf, yo! :)

All I Want For Christmas...

Twenty days from now, the whole world will celebrate my most favorite time of the year. Simbang Gabi, Christmas parties, exchange gifts, wish lists and the preparation of resolutions of what and what-nots on 2012. I have yet to admit that as of this moment, I don't feel like Christmas is fast approaching because 1.) rainy days are still here, 2.) if rainy days aren't here, the weather makes me feel like it's summer 3.) TV5 doesn't have a company-wide Christmas party unlike last year, 4.) I haven't bought gifts for special people yet. But something has been convincing me since last night that it's almost Christmas, I have to get something for myself, too.

Instagram-ed this. I'm holding on to something that changed my plans this Christmas.

Ever since I got this book in my hands last Saturday, my mind was clouded with things like buying a complete makeup brush set from Suesh or Marrionaud, eyeshadow palettes from NYX, more lipsticks from different brands and buying a traincase or a cute lightweight vanity kit from Dashe Cosmetics. Bobbi Brown's Makeup Manual has this effect on me, its impact is addicting, causing me to drool over things I don't really need but.. yeah, I can't sleep well for two days. A Bobbi Brown brand is not necessary. Sometimes, makeups, like clothes, doesn't need to be expensive. Let's say, I'm sacrificing a new shade of lipstick from MAC in exchange of three or four new shades from Maybelline. Not bad, right?

It's not easy being a girl yet I swear it's really, really fun! I don't want to sound materialistic but makeups, alongside clothes, shoes and accessories, are parts of womanhood!

Vinyl + Splash

I was an ultimate stage girlfriend last Saturday when my boyfriend's ad agency handled the Vinyl + Splash: The Ultimate Collectible and Comic Convention presented by Fully Booked together with Comic Odyssey, Vinyl on Vinyl and Red Nimbus. Paolo was also one of the official photographers of the event so I went there to see the country's first ever comic exhibit which will now benefit the United Nation's World Food Program to fight hunger.

The exhibit showcased collectibles like comic books, graphic novels, vinyl toys, street art and other pop culture collectibles and illustrations by Sarah Gaugler, Nemo Aguila, Mico Suayan and more plus the legendary "Joana Hex" artist, Mr. Tony De Zuniga.

Being a super duper girly girly, I admit I'm not into comics except for WITCH and Archie (hahaha) but I loooove watching comic-turned-to-a-movie films especially if it's from Marvel.

I also came from a beauty workshop/session with my colleague from TV5, Erica, at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines so, yeah, my face's kind of glammed up when I arrived at the event.

Carrying a CBTL paperbag with me. That's Erica's pabaon for me!

I love Hellboy!

A single piece touched by all participating artists! One of a kind!

The SQUIK work!

My favorite: SUPERMAN. That face is Jesus'.

Fully Booked was fully booked!

Sanya Smith made me look shorter!

With Gaby!

Mas close sila! Hahaha :D

With 2011 Comic-Con International Inkpot Award recipient, Mr. Tony de Zuniga.

With Mr. Tony de Zuniga, Ms. Chaty Yu of Contact IMC and Gaby de la Merced.

SWAG!

SWAGGER!

This event gathered a whopping P125,000.00! Congratulations to Fully Booked, Contact IMC, Vinyl on Vinyl, Comic Odyssey and Red Nimbus! Looking forward to the exhibit's second run next year! See more of the photos from Paolo's camera on Fully Booked's official Facebook account.

M+K by ruffaandmike.com

It was exactly a month ago when my friend Kim married his then boyfriend, now his husband, Mon. Remember the love we all felt when we attended their wedding and blogged it on my entry Kim + Mon? How about the freedom to pose a la Preview/Tattler given to us by the official photographer Ruffa and Mike?

Finally! The official photos are now posted on the photoblog of the wedding's official photographer. I'm really sorry for grabbing (by screencapping) these photos but I acknowledge that these are owned by ruffaandmike.com. Thank you, Ruffa and Mike, if ever you get to see/read this! :)

The Entourage

Pia and I doing the Dougie as requested by the couple.

Waiting for the couple to walk down the aisle.

A lot of memories flashed back. I can't believe it's been a month since Kim became Mrs. Inciong. I wonder how they're doing now because I haven't seen them since their wedding day. I miss the soon-to-be-mom!

And lastly, who would forget this mobile photo I posted on Facebook--?

This photo may not look like me (I now believe that eyes can change everything, look at my brows and lashes, so not me!) but I swear, it's me!

Now I wonder how and what my wedding feels and looks like respectively. Maybe in three years, or four, or five. Let's see!
