MVP Olympics 2012

Annually, the MVP group gathers together on the last weekend of March for a sports festival called MVP Olympics. This festivity also marks my anniversary at TV5. My first day of work here happened on the very same day they launched it. I felt special in such a weird way because all the employees said hi and introduced themselves to me. Everyone has his own awkward moment being the new boy/girl in town but my awkward moment was awesome.

On its third year, new companies joined in the fun: SPI Global, Asian Medical Center and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital (where I was born) together with Smart, PLDT, Meralco, Maynilad, Cardinal Santos Medical Hospital, Digitel (SUN Cellular), e-PLDT, Makati Medical Center, Metro Pacific Tollways, Metro Pacific Investments and MediaQuest, the media conglomerate of TV5, Cignal and Media5. Yep, these are just some of the companies owned by the business tycoon Mr. Manny V. Pangilinan.

The third MVP Olympics also brought new events: Dodge Ball, Executive Golf, Go Karting, Cosplay, Bowling and more to spice up the usual sporting events like basketball, volleyball, tennis, badminton, etc. You know I'm really not into sports though I thought of joining our cheerdance team (I miss dancing so much) but I refused because I was not sure if I can devote time for rehearsals. So I only joined the parade to support the team. Moral support really helps, I tell you. It boosts the confidence of the players/athletes/participants. And this parade will also you make you feel how lucky you are to be a part of this big group... okay, I take it back. We're not just big, I think we're the biggest (and the brightest)!

Sharing you a few of my photos during the parade with my closest colleagues and our top bosses! :)

With Mother Lisa, Tet and Ate Virgie.

Tet's first (and last) MVP Olympics experience!

The only celebrity I asked a photo with: James Younghusband.

Betty Boop with TV5's Atty. Ona and MediaScape's (Cignal) Benet Galang.

TV5's EVP and COO, Mr. Bobby Barreiro.

Our President and CEO Atty. Ray Espinosa.

That's it! After the opening parade, we left the Meralco compound and went to Cafe Mary Grace for a quick dinner.

Red team!

I think I need to convince myself to join the cheerdance competition next year. Our team got the third place, and perhaps I'm the lucky charm then we will be the champion. Haha! Jk.
