April 16, 2011 -- The day my sister and I got this MacBook Pro I'm currently using now. ♥ 

We can't get off our hands from it. It's like a dream come true. It's definitely a sweet life we're living. I actually expected it to come since Ate and I had sleepless nights deciding if we are going to buy this or not. It's a choice of DSLR, flying abroad, a Louis Vuitton bag or this. But MacBook Pro definitely topped the list. We bought it yesterday. End of the story.

It's somehow a good sign that we are able to get the things we want in a good way. One of my favorite books, Tuesdays with Morrie, taught me a looooot of things about life as a whole. Family, material things, career, relationships, aging, money, power,  living life and DEATH. To quote Mitch Albom's book, "Don't cling to things, because everything is impermanent." Yes, I am only human, and like everyone else, I desire for things I don't actually need. But I make sure that even if I can survive without this certain thing, I will use this in a good way when I possess it. 

Hearing a young actor's sudden death this morning reminded me of how short life is. That it's unpredictable, full of surprises. "Dream as if you're gonna live forever and live as if you're gonna die today." Tell your parents how much you love them and how thankful you are for having them. Show your friends how important they are to you. Kiss and embrace your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife and remind them that you'll be loving them until the end of time. Forgive your enemies. Say sorry to those you've hurt. Lastly, do whatever you want to do. Buy everything you can afford, give what you can share and mean every word you say.

(Graduation) Diner Dash

It's Kuya Carlo's (Paolo's brother) graduation celebration at City Best Restaurant in Scout De Guia/Tomas Morato last Wednesday. We had a hard time deciding on where to eat so we ended up dining there because it's his Mom's favorite.

We saw ABS-CBN, GMA and Viva vans parked outside the restaurant so we knew there's something going on. Haha, check--it's Cristine Reyes' presscon for her movie, Tumbok. The boys got so excited so we really had no choice but to eat there. 

Unfortunately, our food was served an hour and a half after placing our orders. Booyah. We have taken soooo many pictures around already and what's worse is that the family next our table was served with food first when in fact, we arrived 30 minutes ahead of them. The setting's very similar to Diner Dash!

Bored (and hungry) to death despite our frequent follow-ups, I asked Patricia to accompany me outside and to take pictures of me beside ABS-CBN's and GMA's vans! :D

 But wait, there's more! I found a TV5/News5 van parked at the backdoor! THUMBS UP!

The celebration must have been perfect but the venue just ruined it. Sayang, the food's awesome pa naman. We've been eating here for n times, what happened to your service, City Best? Or should we call you City Stress this time?

Beauty Breakout 2011

My friend Kim is one of Anne Curtis's biggest fans. She adores her like yeah. So when I visited Paolo's Mom in her ad agency office a couple of weeks ago and saw Palmolive Naturals Soft Moisture promo materials, I asked them if Anne Curtis will grace the event. All of them said yes, I couldn't believe it. But when it's Pao's Mom that said it's true, I giddily informed Kim that she could possibly meet Anne in person.

Two nights before, I found this sample booth setup at the CIMC office. For real na talaga!

Robinson's Supermarket had its "Beauty Breakout" event last weekend featuring different products from Procter and Gamble, Penshoppe and Colgate-Palmolive.

One of the event organizers asked us if we're willing to sing on stage to the tune of Palmolive Natural's TVC jingle. This would grant us a backstage access so we said yes. This for the love of Anne Curtis!

Don't you just love her? She's so down to earth and she greets everyone. She deserves all the blessings she's receiving now! Truly the Twitter and billboard queen! :)

Couple-lish-ness-ism

Friday - Bubble Tea date with Liz, Trish, Ana and Nige and Jhett

TV5 is facing a major major issue now but well, what can I say, I'm still proud to be a Kapatid!

Pao and I celebrated our 86th month (YES NAMAN, KUNWARI TEENAGER!) last Wednesday. I went to his Mom's office to wait for him. Undecided on where to eat, I asked him to take pictures of me first until we crave for something good to eat. Ergo...

All of a sudden I craved for something we haven't eaten "together" yet. So I thought of bringing him to my favorite local Nanay's Original Pancit Malabon in, wherelse, Malabon City! So when I told Paolo about the idea, he asked if I know the directions going there. I confidently said yes although I am not really sure how to get there alone. So we traveled, traveled, traveled until we lost our way. When we finally found it, Nanay's already closed so we just ate at a nearby cheap bucks steakhouse--Steakside. We passed by Steakside several times and realized that it's just 10 steps away from Nanay's. Pao even said, "Kapag hindi natin nakita yung Nanay's, sa Steakside na lang tayo." Ayun, Steakside nga. Hahaha!

So we ended up eating steaks instead of pancit. No biggie, as long as we're together. Perks of couple-lish-ness-sim. 

Meet the Best Friend

"Friends are the fashion fundamentals," said Blair Waldorf. 

Have you already found your real "fashion fundamental" like how Blair found Serena? How many best friends do/did you have? They say you'll meet your best friend in high school. Hmm, I guess not. I've had several best friends in my whole life. I can name them all (chronologically)--Jensen, Kay, Anne, Mika. I can't call them my exes because they're still my good friends until now. But you know, people come and go. I guess it's better to put that issue this way: "You'll meet your best friend AFTER high school." Of course you can meet your real best friend in high school and it's up to you if you're still gonna be the same best friends when you enter college; that way you can prove everyone that even after those teenage years aka high school days, you still treasure the kind of friendship you have. Personally speaking, I literally met my best friend/s after high school. Yes, I met them during college. They are Cha and Phoebe. 

And today, April 8, is Phoebe's birthday. So this blog is specially posted for my best friend Phoebe! (Cha, next month ka na. Promise!)

Dear Phoebe, 

I can call myself the sweetest best friend you'll ever have for this! I Multiply-ed all these many, many, many pictures of us and every click made me miss you so much. Our very first day in college is such a valuable act because that's the day when I met you, Cha and Hya. That's one of my most unforgettable moments in college (next to the announcement of honor students), I swear. My entire family knows you so well and I am happy that my parents also consider you as one of their daughters.

Lahat na yata ng kagagahan nagawa na natin. Nakapunta na tayo sa beach, sa burol (Chocolate Hills ah, hindi wake), sabay na tayo nakapag-modeling, etc. At akalain mo'ng yung na-ospital ako sa Cebu eh, na-ospital ka din? Parang isang bituka lang meron tayo. Yun nga lang, mas makapal sikmura ko sayo kasi ikaw bumalik agad sa Manila, ako sumakay pa ng barko. Sad pa, naka-wheel chair ka papuntang airport, ako naglakad papuntang pier. 

Tignan mo yung mga picture natin, nakakaiyak diba? (Kasi naiiyak ako sa tuwa habang tina-type ko 'to.) Kahit ang ganda-ganda natin, nakakaiyak pa din. Iilan lang yan sa mga madaming pictures na meron tayo. Na kahit ilagay ko pa lahat 'yun, hindi maiintindihan ng ibang tao kung gano tayo ka-baliw kapag magkasama. 

We've been through a lot of things already. Isa na dun yung nag-away tayo dahil sa report natin sa Anthropolgy. I'm sorry for making you cry. Sorry for offending you. Pero you know how much I love you so dedma ka na lang, bitch. ♥

Lastly, these last four photos are my pinaka-favorite. We graduated from college together. We Skype when we miss each other. We surprised and prepared a baby shower for you and Khara. And I am very glad that I'm one of the very few people whom your sister called when you gave birth. You know that I'm always right by your side. And alam ko na ganyan ka din sa akin. Kaya nga tayo best friends diba? 

And more than that, you're a sister to me. I love you!
