Yet Another Fash School

A couple of Saturdays ago, I received an invitation from one of the students of Fashion Institute of the Philippines who also happens to be my colleague from TV5. I giddily said yes the moment she asked me if I'm available on that day. Aside from modeling for this friend of mine, I wanted to inquire, to know the school's other offered courses and to also see the school for myself. I wanted to see how accessible FIP is, how clean its campus is and to know its difference from other fashion schools I've been to like the School of Fashion and the Arts.

Erica asked me to wear a bright, flowy top with a statement necklace so I planned to wear a plain yellow top and brought my MARiS Miss Pastel feather necklace. I also planned to wear something comfortable since I'll be going to support Paolo's Vinyl + Splash event with Fully Booked.

Before!

Forgive me but I really look so chubby here! I've been eating a lot after Kim and Mon's wedding and after our recent Boracay trip. But kebssss! It's the season to be jolly and chubby so diet resumes after the Yuletide season!

After!

I'm quite lucky that the "lesson of the day" is about eye makeups! Yay for smoky eyes! <3 We were taught how to do the smoky eyes using bright colors (blue, green) and the basic colors (brown and black). I've always wanted to perfectly create the smoky eyes a la Penelope Cruz, remember? And the last time I adored this classic eye makeup was last September during a session with Paul & Joe's Judith Pia.

Closer look you'll see the blue and green shadows used for my schmokey eyes!

Other version of smoky eyes using brown and black shadows.

Zzz :)

With TV5 PR specialist/FIP student/makeup artist, Erica Camagong. Naks!

Sheena Ramos of TV5 New Media also joined us.

Wing tip eyeliner on Sheena. And yes, if she looks familiar.. click here. Hehehe!

Erica, Sheena and I :)

With Ella, Erica's classmate :)

Hey it's Maxx... on the magazine!

After this beauty session with the girls, I headed off straight to High Street! Right time for my eye makeup to serve its purpose!

With this happened, I fell in love deeper with makeups! I think I'm kinda obsessed with them now. And just last night, I bought the eyeshadow palette I've been eying on since Saturday. I may blog about it, let's see! For now, have a happy Thursday, don't forget to hear the Mass (it's Immaculate Conception Day) and later tonight I'll be attending a hiphop event with the boyf, yo! :)

Northern Eastbound

The best friend we could ever have next to Candy Magazine is our cousins. Something is so special about them, like being able to avoid arguments we always have with our siblings and being friends with them while proving that the saying "Blood is thicker than water." is true.

Last Friday, our plan to spend a night together at Bite Club finally happened. We have been planning this for years! Though incomplete due to last minute cancellations of my other cousins' whereabouts, five of us made it and my sister and I had introduced them the biggest burger we know in the metro. Don't judge us! We love Bite Club since I was in high school and I haven't found its best competitor yet except for the one in Iloilo.

Goofing around with my cousin Ebok. Do you see the Enchong Dee resemblance? :)

Here we are enjoying our first ever bite at Bite Club that night!

We're like wolves enjoying the great meaty taste of the grilled patty! Ate Mai and I are glad that they enjoyed it and we are definitely coming back... with more cousins and close friends!

After an hour and a half of staying there, we decided to spend a little more time in Eastwood. We originally planned to drink in The Distillery but Friday night is A Friday night, hence, The Distillery could no longer accommodate us so we stayed at Bed Room instead. It brought back some college memories but it's quite disappointing to see Bed Room now. Dirty, bad service, drinks are not served well and blah, blah, blah. We could have chose Agave instead! But still, we let the good times roll through our endless laughs and catchups!

A bit flop but I love how the "effect" looked like!

Paolo straight from his Naga (work-related) trip!

I missed him! :)

Kuya CJ, Paolo and me.

With Ate Lauren and Budoy!!! :)

What I wore: Cropped top from Royal Kouture | Black knit jeans from Jag | Snakeskin flat shoes from Misbehave and Pepper Potts feathered hairclip from MARiS.

Christmas is near!

Til the next getaway with my cousins!

Girl Next Door

I was planning to clean my drive because the desktop computer I use at work is performing slower than the usual. I brought DVDs with me to save backups and delete some personal files but guess what happened, I found recent photos of me from my iPhone photos folder. These were taken on the last week of September and what made me giddy to blog about these two outfits? MARiS and Laduree, my two latest addictions!

We don't have a body-size mirror at the office and every time I wanna see how I look like, I ask my office chums to take a picture of me. Pictures speak a thousand words, right? And of course I project whenever they snap and tap my ever, so dear iP. (Oh, just to be sure, we do this during breaks, not on office hours!)

All the colors I love: blue-green, violet and pink.

I also couldn't believe that I sported the Miss Pastel Necklace from MARiS at work. People here are often dressed in jeans and plain tops except for talents (actors, anchors and reporters). I'm usually spotted wearing dresses just to be safe! :)

Sumo smile!

I wore this during the final fitting of our gowns. Before picking Jovy and Susie up, Pao and I lined up for ATM to get some moohlas. The boyfriend suddenly took a photo of me while talking and I was so ready to smile!

Crazy for Laduree part two.

My last piece of Laduree is the pistachio flavor and I made sure to have a digital copy of it to please the Blair Waldorf in me! The red car behind me got the boyfriend's attention, ergo the background. I was also wearing the MARiS Camie feather hair clip!

Fash and Feathered

The feather craze is officially here! Well, to tell you honestly, I did not think I'll be so into this trend the very first time I saw girls sporting it. But thank heavens I have a good friend named Mika Artienda, who, if I'm not mistaken, is the very first designer and seller of unique feather accessories in the metro. Her store, MARiS, is not a noob in the Philippine fashion scene. From bloggers Tin Iglesias, Patricia Prieto to designer/model/blogger and now actress Laureen Uy, to Julia Montes of the Mara Clara fame to the unkabogable Vice Ganda, MARiS tops the list of this light-weight, bohemian-inspired trend.

On the day we had a shoot for MARiS, Mika and I parted ways with a loot bag filled with... yes, you got it right, feather accessories she designed! Check these out:

Fash and feathered! MARiS bestsellers! ♥

Black Feathered Single Earring in Gold Chain

Camie Feather Hair Clip -- I named this!

Pepper Potts Feather Hair Clip

I'm one lucky girl! According to New York City's Refinery 29, feathers is the trend we must try! I've Instagram-ed/Tumblr-ed Miss Pastel Necklace here, Rainbow Single Earring here and used my Camie last Saturday night, though I have to post my photo of me wearing it yet! And oh, before I forget, a connector ring's also included (please see first photo above) in the loot bag.

Thanks so much, Mika! I'm so excited to wear and flaunt all of these! People who see me wearing your designs love it! Thanks for making me a MARiS muse! I can say I'm a certified fash and feathered! xx
