Justin Bieber in Manila

I may be a week late to rant about Justin Bieber's My World Tour in Manila last May 10, 2011 in SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds but heck yeah, I loved the concert so there's no stopping me in blogging about him.

First of all, I would like to thank (HAHA BEAUTY PAGEANT?!) my TV5 Kapatids, the Happy Network for giving me the opportunity to watch JB and of course Smart Communications, the Philippines' leading wireless services provider (MIGHT BE THE REASON GLOBE FAILED BIGTIME THAT NIGHT!) . Plus, plus, plus the VIP car pass that our Marketing Head gave me because the parking in MOA is always tragic, it made our life easier last Tuesday.

I am actually not a Belieber but I like Justin Bieber and I love him now after watching his concert. He was a real professional performer because he still broke a leg despite the fact that he was sick. He still gave his 101% shot, danced into the groove, sang at the top of his lungs and made young girls kilig to the bones. He surely says never say never!

It's given that I'm going to watch this with Paolo. There's no need for an explanation. I know it may seem quite unbelievable to see him watch Justin Bieber but he frankly said he enjoyed the night! Behind us were young girls who screamed and cried when Justin showed off the stage for the first time. I swear it gave me goosebumps! Young girls accompanied by their parents, parents so happy to see their little girls happy, so sweet!

And so we watched it in Silver FF. Thanks, Ms. Jane Walker!☺ Btw, please understand that I don't take good pictures. Haha. I don't care if it's resolution/color/exposure is bad but just don't mind. So here's an adorb photo of Justin Bieber which reminds me of my childhood sweetheart Aaron Carter, our generation's Justin Bieber equivalent.

This must be one of my favorite JB snapshots in my camera.

He played the guitar while singing I'll Be. He looked like a real young adult here wearing his signature color, purple.

Perhaps, this was the moment that he searched for his OLLG. He was staring at someone...

And boom, ONE LESS LONELY GIRL was also wearing purple!

That should be me, LOL!

According to the little research I did over Google, the One Less Lonely Girl of Manila is Kathleen Kaye Pesante. I saw her whispering "I love you!" in the screen while looking straight into Justin's eyes. Aside from being the One Less Lonely Girl aka OLLG, she's also the ONE LUCKY, LUCKY GIRL!

Justin also played the drums after introducing his band and his dancers. YOU ALREADY! Very, very, very talented indeed!

I only have a few feedback about the concert. 1.) I hope there'll be no chairs anymore so people can dance, jump and have MORE fun and 2.) I wish that the audience will dance when the performers say, "Dance," will jump when the performers say "Jump," will clap when the performers say "Clap your hands, everybody! Everybody, clap your hands!" OKTNXBYE. :)

PS: I love you, Justin Bieber. ♥
Up next, Miley Cyrus! It's gonna be a party in the USA Manila!

A Floral Affair

It's another official statement, I love floral prints. I have already proclaimed my love for animal prints and nautical designs, and now it's my turn to tell the world how much I adore this feminine vibe.

Last Saturday, Toto and I decided to drop by Forever 21 in SM Makati after spending chill hours in Starbucks Greenbelt. The second we entered the shop, a floral dress hanging by a rack caught our attention. Toto knew I would impulsively buy it so he told me to fit it in the dressing room. I said I wanted to buy some clothes for Justin Bieber's concert but I had a mini-dilemma that I'd be coming from a regular meeting before going to the concert venue so I thought of buying a dress! Haha. Obviously I didn't want to bring another outfit at work so I just wore it yesterday with a blazer.

 Vintage floral bag, P355.00

And just last week, I bought a new bag from an Ukay (thrift shop/vintage shop). Original price is P355.00 but since I'm practicing my haggling skills, I got it for only... P200.00! Not bad! What I liked about the bag is that it doesn't have a zipper or lock. I prefer bringing bags like this on an everyday basis and yes, look at the prints! It reminds me of Cath Kidston!

CATH KIDSTON BAGS.

YES! Cath Kidston is one of my favorite brands from London because of its soft, feminine designs! Aside from bags, CK also has products like shoes, linens, kitchenware, etc. Check out their website linked above. :)

FOREVER 21 SHOES.

Omgaaaah, shoppergasm. Forever 21's shoe collection has floral pairs too! I want NEED to buy the first pair, it's a t-strap! I absolutely love t-strap footwear that I almost have 5 pairs of it in different styles. Plus, the floral design is so chic, so Victorian-inspired! I'm going to check local stores like Tomato and Possibility, I saw few floral pairs in their collections too!

Clockwise from the bottom: Asos Leora Floral Bow T-Bar ballerina, Santi clutch, Rah Rah flat sandals, Topshop MOTO Yellow Floral hotpants, Desire Clothing denim shorts, Topshop Beige Peter Pan-collared floral playsuit, Jil Sander Floral-print Silk Mini Dress, Topshop Chiffon Floral dress

I Polyvored more inspirational fashion pieces with floral accents and designs and these are my top favorites. I'm eying on 3 stuff there: the ballerina flats, Peter Pan-collared dress and the denim shorts. Bigger floral collection awaits my closet and I am so excited!

Glad that I'm able to share my wardrobe's favorites. So far, I have animal prints, nautical and floral. Up next is another fave, of course. Any wild guess? I've already mentioned it in my previous posts. It's up there, ha!

Celebrity Fashion Styling with Alyanna Martinez

Enrolling for a class in the School of Fashion and the Arts (SoFA) has been on my list for 2 years now. It's a never-ending synchronization with my schedule and I'm glad to finally fit it in my planner even if it's just a 3-hour capsule.

So yeah, I got to enroll for the second batch of Celebrity Fashion Styling with Alyanna Martinez. It's a half day fashion capsule attended by fashion enthusiasts who want to pursue their careers in the glamorous industry, or if not, those who live by the rules of fashion/styling. Well if you know me enough, you'll understand that I dream of becoming a magazine editor and I am still going through high hopes about that until now. I'm not giving up, I've just taken my first few steps!

Meet our famous guest instructor, Alyanna Martinez.

If her name rings a bell, you're hearing the right bell. Haha! She's the daughter of Albert and Leizl Martinez but if there's one thing you need to know about her, never did she use her name (or her parents' name) to be where she is now. Alyanna's career story is adorable, she's been through all the ups and downs and highs and lows of things just like an ordinary girl. She's gone shopping on Ukays (thrift shops), she had sleepless nights, she got broke... but these things didn't stop her from doing what she really wants. She's like a warrior, only in heels and a fuchsia pink lipstick.

Hours after sharing her story, like how she bagged her first job, how she got so stressed with all the tapings and pullouts, etc etc, Alyanna started giving away freebies including Philippine Fashion Week passes.

Alyanna gave away passes for the PFW, gift cards from SM Department Store and a gift pack fromVita Fede. That lucky guy won an accessory worth P10,000 from Vita Fede! Congratulations!

My dearest classmates!

After the giveaway, we discussed about the difference of celebrity styling from other kinds of styling, sourcing of materials and pullouts for shoots, importance of building contacts/networks, and Alyanna's tricks of the trade.

A stylist must-haves are: clips of all sizes, tapes of all kinds (especially masking tape), safety pins and a roll of nylon thread (of course with a needle).

Alyanna's accessories, accessories, accessories and more accessories!!! Whew! I drooled over these! She has almost everything a girl needs and wants!

All of us in the classroom stood up and took endless photos of her piles of blings! I even caught myself in awe while staring at these goodies!

Alyanna worked her color blocking tricks on our model classmate Kim. Color blocking is her favorite trend, btw. This look, according to her, is perfect for teenybopper magazines like Candy and Meg.

This look is more Preview-appropriate. I liked the styling--gold, laces and sheer! ♥

Alyanna showed us how to add an oomph into that outfit like putting a statement necklace or bangles.

TRIVIA: Alyanna styled the SM Department Store catalog which I loved. Yay! I liked it even before realizing it's her who styled the girls! Click here to see it.

As much as I want to enroll for a full-course program offered by SoFA, I unfortunately can't because of work. I even wanted to join my classmates in their internship programs, gaaah! So if you're still a student, I tell you, mas masarap mag-aral kesa magtrabaho! Hahahaha! Do everything you want to do first before looking for a job. Mahirap kalaban ang oras! Grab every opportunity as long as you're young, seriously.

You know the feeling of "FIRST DAY HIGH"? I felt that last Saturday! I was so damn scared because I don't know anyone. But I remembered what Dad told me during my 1st day in FEU, "Lahat naman kayo d'yan mag-isa. Lahat kayo walang kakilala." So I said hi to Noelle, then Binky and lastly, Jeanne! Yaaay I met new wonderful (and young) friends!

L-R: Jeanne, Anna, Noelle and me.

Of course, a picture with Alyanna shouldn't be missed! I love her! :)

And yes, finally, the long wait is over. Behind me is the infamous red wall of SoFA.

Kiddie Party

My girlfriends and I started the month of May with a kiddie party. Gian, Jovy's nephew, turned 5 and we're invited at the Mariano's residence somewhere in Project 6, QC. And no, we're not the typical guests because Rachel hosted the party, I led the prayer, Kim, Jovy and Susie were the game facilitators and we all participated in the game... PABITIN!

Young at heart! We did not mind wearing party hats and getting ourselves balloons!

I decided to wear a tucked-in Hello Kitty shirt too because it was soooo freaking hot outside. It suits the event because most of the little boys were wearing Ben 10 shirts including the birthday boy.

Susie, me, Kim, Rachel, Pia, Jovy.

We scream dirty ice cream in cheese, mango and melon flavor! Perfect for summer!

It's the dirty ice cream we couldn't get enough last Sunday. That was a major treat and kinda relieved us from the hot weather. Imagine a party at three in the afternoon where the sun is enjoying its peak? Now I am craving for some more!

We found Rachel's long lost son, Haze, during the party too!

Meet Haze, a cute little boy who grew up in Dubai. His Filipino parents decided to go back here a week ago. He turned out to be Gian's instant playmate and Rachel's son! So cute and adorable that when we asked him what he wanted to eat, he answered, "Something good for my diet. Carbonara, maybe?" Epic!

And there you go, ladies and gentlemen! Here's a photo of Haze enjoying his creamy carbonara!

We really had fun celebrating Gian's birthday! It's a good reminder too that we're all good friends for 5 years now! We remember Gian only as a baby and seeing him again last Sunday and hearing him talking is reminded me of our college days!

Kiddie parties are love! It's like a preparation for us because I know sooner or later, we'll be throwing parties for our little ones! Up next, Phoebe's baby girl, Kara! :)

The Week That Was

The last week of April is awesome. It's the week of festivity, love, faith and power. It's one of the best weekends I ever had even without going out of town or doing something out of ordinary or unusual. It's just me and the television, me and the big screen, me and Paolo, me and my family.

Finally, after earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides and other natural calamities, the world is again celebrating because of the recent happenings! There's hope, people. It's not going to be the end of the world!

I have top three supermen who ruled the world last week and they are, in no particular order:

Blessed John Paul II

I'm not surprised. When the late Pope passed away last 2005, I know he'll going to be beatified and will soon become a saint. I adore him. He makes me feel that being a Roman Catholic is a pride. Blessed John Paul II's face is so innocent, he looks so kind.

Pope Benedict XVI and two other bishops kiss Blessed John Paul II's casket during his beatification yesterday, May 1.

In 1986, Blessed John Paul II met one of the women I look up to, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, India.

Would you believe that this man that the late Pope is talking to is the man who attempted to kill him two years earlier? Blessed John Paul II paid him a visit in prison and of course, he forgave him.

Beatification is the final prelude to sainthood. When a person is beatified, it means that the person is "blessed". To know more about Blessed John Paul II's beatification, click here.

Prince William and Kate Middleton

The world watched the Royal Wedding of the century. The world fell in love with them and the world witnessed a real life fairy tale. William and Catherine bestowed the official titles Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Earl and Countess of Strathearn and Baron and Baroness of Carrickfergus. It sounds grandeur, right? I feel so lucky to witness the royal wedding (doesn't matter if it's only on television) of the world's most popular and most prestigious royal family/monarchy.

These two are my favorites! William and Kate and Charles and Diana.

Their first kiss as husband and wife at the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

I still have my own hangover from the Royal Wedding. Yes!!! I am actually in search of a Royalty for Dummies book because I want to know why Catherine is called a duchess instead of a princess like Diana, why their wedding is called the royal wedding of the century (isn't Prince Harry getting married or will he tie the knot on the NEXT century) and so on and so forth. And while on a search, I stumbled upon this interesting special by People.com. Please check it out, it's about the royal-lookalikes in history!

Chris Hemsworth as Thor

Lastly, it's official... I am in love with Thor. I've seen his fellow Marvel superheroes, Spiderman, Iron Man, Hulk,  Wolverine and the rest of the X-Men, Daredevil, in the big screen but only Thor captured my heart and being. Lololol. :p

I love his impulsiveness, his humor, his "you-can't-change-my-mind attitude. I love his body (ooh-la-la!) and I love the way he looks at Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). But what I love most about him is the way he asks for a horse in a pet shop!

Like Douglas McArthur, Thor promised Jane, "I will return." Aww his stare! <3

Men, watch it with your father.

And may I also recommend, watch it on a THORsday or a SaTHORday on theaTHORs near you! :D Be sure you'll stay until the end of the CBB (closing billboard) because it will tell you when Thor's coming back and who's with him.

Watch Thor's official trailer.
